Yolanda Holzer

Mrs. Yolanda J. Holzer (née LaSardo), 97, died on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Neptune, New Jersey.

Visiting will take place at the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, NJ, on Tuesday, February 3 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lake Church on Tuesday at 10 AM. Parking is available in the Montrose Avenue parking lot behind the church at 29 Montrose Avenue, Verona. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn, Yolanda later moved to West Orange, New Jersey in 1960, where she raised her family alongside her sister Barbara. She started her career at B. Altman and company in NYC where she specialized in fine stationary. She then accompanied her husband at running their family business at The Golden Rule fish market in Montclair, NJ.

In 2003, she retired to Manalapan, New Jersey. Throughout her life, she balanced devotion to her family while mastering her craft in Italian cooking, gardening, and enjoying a nice glass of Merlot. Her love did not stop at her family, as she greeted every stranger and dog like they were her own.

Yolanda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur Holzer, and her siblings, John, Sam, Charles, Carmine, Mary, Anna, and Barbara.

She is survived by her loving children, Richard Holzer (Acenilda), James Holzer (Supria), Margaret Szura (Gary), and Stefanie Holzer; her cherished grandchildren, Arthur, Nicole, Albert, Bradley, Kathryn, Matthew (Vanessa), Shannon (Frank), and Grace (Nico), and her great-grandchildren, Cameron and Thomas.
