Susan “Sue” Nolan Obituary (1926 - 2016)

Ms. Susan W. Nolan, 90, died on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Glen Ridge. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair on Thursday, August 25 at 9:30 am. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, (www.proutfuneralhome.com) 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. Born in East Orange, Sue moved to West Orange in 1927 and to West Caldwell in 2014. She was an Executive Secretary at Kraft Foods in Mountainside, NJ for 17 years, retiring in 1991. Previously she was an Executive Secretary at General Mills in NYC, NY for 25 years. Sue graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, the Berkeley Secretarial School in 1948 and after she retired received her BA in English Lit & Communications from Bloomfield College in 1993. A long time member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Sue served on the Pastoral Council and was active in the St. Matthew Guild. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Montclair. Sue was predeceased by her siblings, Catherine McCloskey, Thomas J. Nolan, Jr., Robert J. Nolan and Mary Theresa "Pat" Meehan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
