Ruth Ann Overholser

Ruth Ann Overholser, 78, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 in Woodstock, GA.

Born on July 16, 1947 in Verona, NJ she was the daughter of Everett A. and Doris (Reimer) Overholser.

Ruth Ann obtained an Associate degree in Art from Concordia College (MN), a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upsala College (NJ) and a Master's degree in Student Personnel Service from Montclair State University (NJ). She worked for five years as an evaluator of student records and afterwards as an assistant registrar at Montclair State College and then as a registrar at The College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ. She also worked at Crum & Forster in Morristown, NJ.

She was a wonderful and devoted sister, aunt and friend. Her artistic gifts were enjoyed and shared by many - especially through her love for sewing and crocheting blankets for her friends and their families. Ruth Ann also enjoyed volunteering at church; meeting with friends to share a meal; and especially, visiting with her family. She also loved keeping in touch through greeting cards during the holidays and celebrating each milestone in her friends' lives.

Ruth Ann was predeceased by her parents and dearest friend, Sister Patrica Flynn.

She is survived by her brother, Donald W. Overholser; sister-in-law, Olympia (Areizaga) Overholser; and her nieces, Ashley Overholser and Allison (Julio) Ligorria.

Visiting for family and friends will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, NJ on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9:00 - 11:00 am. A private graveside service will be held in Centreville Cemetery, Upper Mount Bethel, PA.
