Raymond L. Colotti

Raymond L. Colotti died on Sunday, December 28, 2025 surrounded by family. He was 79 years old.

Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Saturday, January 10 from 3-6pm. A Service will take place on Sunday, January 11 at 11 am in the funeral home.

Ray was born in NYC and grew up in the Bronx and Puerto Rico. Ray lived in Alexandria, VA, where he attended Falls Church High School. He then went on to attend Georgetown University, where he graduated as valedictorian from the School of Foreign Service before continuing on to earn an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. It was in Philadelphia where Ray met Barbara, his wife of 54 years.

Following graduate school, Ray began a long and successful career in finance, which included executive positions at Exxon, Schering-Plough, Equitable & ADP. Upon retirement, Ray was the Corporate Vice President & Treasurer of ADP in Roseland, NJ.

Ray resided in Verona, NJ since 1973, where he and Barbara raised their three children and many pet dogs. Once retired, he enjoyed his second home in Naples, FL, and spent as much time there as possible to escape the NJ winters.

When not working, Ray loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Whether it be watching a NY Yankee game or traveling to Italy, Ray was most happy when he was with his family. He had a passion for good food and wine– so much that a bad meal could ruin his mood for the rest of the day. Ray always made dinnertime with his family a top priority.

Ray is survived by his wife, Barbara Tyler Colotti; his children, Raymond Louis (“Chip”) Colotti Jr. (Christina Wang), Austin William Colotti (Angela Fu) & Adrienne Colotti Shaver (Jerome); his brothers, George Colotti, Andrew Aran & Paul Aran. Ray, who they called Nonno, was very proud of his grandchildren; Madison Bella Colotti (13), Tyler Fu Colotti (10), Verona May Colotti (9) & Aida Ray Shaver (16 months).

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to either the Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 (www.veronars.org) or the Verona Lions Club at Verona Lions Charities, Inc., P. O. Box 38, Verona, NJ 07044 (www.lionsclubveronanj.org) would be greatly appreciated.
