Peter Fernandez

Pete Fernandez, 62, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on September 22, 2021, in Toms River, NJ.

Visiting will be held at Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, NJ on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 3 to 4 pm with a service at 4 pm.

Born and raised in Armonk, NY, he lived in Bradenton, FL and Caldwell, NJ before moving to Whiting, NJ in 2014.

Pete graduated from Byram Hills High School and attended St. Leo College in Florida. He worked in the nursing field as a CNA at the Ramapo Psychiatric Hospital in Wyckoff, NJ.

Pete enjoyed all aspects of outdoor life especially the beach at seaside with his daughter, Nicole and Jake also going to the mountains in Pennsylvania and in North Carolina. He always found time to be with his family no matter what was going on. Pete especially loved his grand puppy "his baby boy" Gizmo.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Fernandez and Gloria (nee Korsen) Fernandez and his sister, Alice Anne Fernandez Brookhart.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Nicole Fernandez and her fiance, Jacob Tanner, Danielle Alessi and his son, James Alessi, Jr. and his wife, Debra. His sister, Donna Fernandez Zanine, and her late husband, John Zanine and brother, Al Fernandez. Also survived by his niece, Laurie Zanine Moore and husband, Jarred. Also survived by his nephews, Joey Fernandez and Michael Zannie and his wife, DeeDee. Pete is also survived by 2 great nieces, Olivia Fernandez and Lilian Moore and his great nephew, Carl Moore. He is also survived by 4 adorable granddaughters, Allie, Addie, Ani and Abbie Alessi. He is also survived by his domestic partner, James Alessi and his former wife, Maureen Sheehy Fernandez Gonzalez.
