Nickolaos Stergiou Obituary (1945 - 2018)

Mr. Nickolaos Stergiou, 73, died on February 15, 2018 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be offered in Ss. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Laurel Ave., Roseland, on Tuesday, February 20 at 11 am. Visiting in the church will be prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am. Born and raised in Almyros, Greece, Mr. Stergiou moved to the United States in 1967 and lived in Queens, NY prior to moving to West range in 2010. He owned his own trucking company in Queens for many years, enjoyed hunting in his spare time and served on the NYC Auxiliary Police in Queens. He is the beloved husband of 48 years of Afroditi (nee Maragas) Stergiou, the loving father of Helen Spirou (John) and Pauline Angelinas (George), the dear brother of Argirios Stergiou, Orsalia Bitoula, Fotini Sourlas and the devoted grandfather of Stamatios Spirou, Nickolaos Spirou, Zoe Angelinas and Evangelia Angelinas. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ss. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
