Mary E. Burns

Mary Elizabeth Burns passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 28 Lakeside Avenue, Verona. Burial is private.

Born and raised in Verona, Mary graduated from Verona High School and went on to work for Prudential Insurance until her retirement. Mary lived in Stanhope before moving to Florham Park in 2016.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and John Burns; her sisters, Catherine (Kay) Vincent and Anne Bontempo; brother, John P. Burns; and nephew, Jesse Vincent, Jr.

She is survived by the many nieces and nephews she loved as well as her cat, Misty who was her world. Mary was also predeceased by Patches.

Mary will be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor and love of animals. We take comfort in knowing she is with her beloved parents once again.
