Margaret (Peggy) MacDuffie, 92
Devoted mother of 7 and travel enthusiast

Peggy MacDuffie, formerly of New Dorp, Staten Island, N.Y., passed away Oct. 9, 2019, at the age of 92.

Born on Staten Island, Peggy (nee Sullivan) met her husband of 63 years, George H. (Bud) MacDuffie, Jr., at a local dance. Bud preceded Peggy in death in 2014. Both born and raised on Staten Island, the couple settled in New Dorp to raise their family. They were both very active in the Staten Island Contract Bridge community

Peggy made a career of helping others in healthcare. First as an LPN as St. Vincent's Medial Center, then as a RN, and ending her career as a Social Worker at SI University Hospital.
Peggy loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. Her favorite adventure was her trip across Canada and Alaska.

Peggy is survived by her seven children, Dan, Mark, Lauren, Colleen, Gregor, Geraldine and Scott, and her 12 grandchildren and extended family,

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 14, at 10:30AM at Holy Rosary Church 100 Jerome Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peggy's alma mater Adelphi University School of Social Work.
