Lilly Berman

Mrs. Lilly Berman died on Saturday, September 5, 2026 in Livingston, NJ. She was 95 years old.

Service to be held in Bnai Keshet Synagogue, 99 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ on Tuesday, September 8 at 10 am. Interment to follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Flushing, NY.

Mrs. Berman was born and raised in Paris, France, where she witnessed first hand the horror of war. She came to the US in 1952 and lived in Brooklyn and Kew Gardens before settling in Rego Park.
As she got older, she moved to Lakewood, NJ and Teaneck, NJ and eventually Montclair, NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband, Seymour Berman and her brother, Danny Buk.

Mrs. Berman is survived by her children, Clifford Berman (Abby Strauss), Alan Berman (Janet Spitzer-Berman), Evelyn Hurba (Gary Hurba); her brother, Jacky Buk; her grandchildren, Arielle Berman (Charles Pratt), Jared Berman, Sam Berman-McCabe and a great-grandson, Aubrey Pratt.

Shiva will be observed in the home of Alan Berman, 109 Squire Hill Road, Upper Montclair, NJ both days on (1) Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, with Minyan at 7:30 pm and on (2) Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm with Minyan at 7:30 pm.
