Lenora Cerrato

Lenora Marie Cerrato, 86, of Verona, NJ, died on Friday, September 18, 2026 in Lincoln Park.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Born and raised in Newark, Ms. Cerrato graduated from Barringer High School with the Class of 1958. She continued her education at Rutgers University–Newark, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree..

Following graduation, she began her career as a reporter for the Newark News. She later brought her talents in writing, communications and public relations to her own firm, Aronel, which she established in Caldwell. Through Aronel, she developed marketing and publicity campaigns for a variety of clients and causes, including the promotion of Asthma Athletes of America, an organization and mission that held special meaning for her.

Faith was an important part of Ms. Cerrato's life. She served as a lector at St. Francis Church in Newark and, after moving to the area, became a devoted parishioner of St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell.

Ms. Cerrato lived for many years in Bloomfield before settling in Verona more than 25 years ago, where she made her home and remained close to family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ross and Eleanor (nee Cifradella) Cerrato.

Ms. Cerrato is survived by her loving sister, Susan Cioci, her brother-in-law, Gerald Robert; her devoted nephews, James Cioci and Gerald Steven Cioci; her great-niece, Gianna Rose Cioci; her great-nephew, Michael Gerald Cioci; her aunt, Dolores; and many loving cousins, including Camille, Cindy, Mark, Bart and Gary; as well as many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Aloysius Church Maintenance Fund, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006, would be appreciated.
