June Anthony

–

Fairfield, NJ

It is with profound sadness that the family of June Anthony, 90, announces her passing on February 1, 2018 at the West Caldwell Care Center after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

June grew up in Irvington, New Jersey. After earning her undergraduate degree from Drew University and a teaching degree from Newark State Teacher's College, she taught primary grades in both Chatham and Roseland. A resident of Roseland for over 50 years, June wore many hats - homemaker, artist, beekeeper, shopkeeper, babysitter and best friend.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Anthony, in 2005, and leaves her loving daughter, Lynn Martinez, son-in-law, Joseph, and grandchildren, Justine and Joey of West Caldwell; son, Dr. Wayne Anthony and grandson, Evan, of Lititz, PA; and her two beloved cats, Buddy and Sissy, who resided with her at Sunrise West Essex under the watchful eye of the loving care team.

Services will be private. Entombment at Restland Memorial Park's Chapel of Tranquility, East Hanover.

Please consider donations to Alzheimer's New Jersey (www.alznj.org), 425 Eagle Rock Ave., Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 to support research, education and outreach for residents of the State of New Jersey. Half of us will be robbed of our golden years by this horrible disease and there remains much work to be done.
