John Vincent Auriemma, Jr., age 57, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Born and raised in Belleville, NJ, John moved to Verona 19 years ago. He graduated from Belleville High School with the Class of 1986.
John was a Corrections Officer for Essex County in North Caldwell prior to starting with Verizon as a Fiber Splicer in the Woodbridge area where he has worked for the past 20 years.
John was the beloved husband of Janet Reiman-Auriemma, the proud father of his sons, Jaye and Jarrett, whom he loved beyond measure. He was also a devoted brother to Charles, Nicholas, Paul and Diane Radin, a devoted brother-in-law to Jeanne, Bill, Suzanne, Jennifer and Jamie, and cherished uncle to Tara, Nicky Jr., Ariana, Kayla, Hailey, Giannah, and AngeLena and beloved great-uncle. John was a devoted family man and loyal friend to many.
A true New York Jets fan, he enjoyed the simple joys in life—playing mini golf, spending weekends with family and taking memorable trips to Atlantic City with his brothers Paul and Nick and his nephew Nick Jr. He loved most spending time at the Jersey shore with his wife and children. He cherished watching his children and his children's friends play sports and never missed a game. These moments brought him laughter and countless stories his family will forever treasure.
John will be remembered for playing Santa on Xmas Eve, his warm heart, easy smile, and the way he made everyone around him feel welcomed and loved. His dedication to his family and friends and his steady presence will be deeply missed.
Visiting will be at the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday, December 3, from 3 to 7 pm, with Words of Remembrance to be held at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to The Verona Rescue Squad would be appreciated.
