Joan Frances Curran

Mrs. Joan F. Curran died on December 28, 2022 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. She was 92 years old.

A private Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona, NJ and burial at Spring Creek Cemetery in State College, PA took place this past week.

Born in Oceanside, NY, she grew up in Freeport, NY and lived in Baldwin, NY for 30 years prior to moving to State College, PA 34 years ago.

Mrs. Curran graduated from the Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School for Girls of Brooklyn, NY in 1948 and Secretarial School in NYC prior to working in the billing department of Arnold Constable & Company in NYC.

After marriage, she devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was active in her Catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading and was a most worthy opponent when it came to various card games.

Mrs. Curran was predeceased by her husband, William J. Curran, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Carol Curran; and her siblings, Mary Goode, Edward Forker, Jr., James Forker, John Forker and Teresa Forker.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Curran, Nancy McNally, Elizabeth (Betsy) & Paul LeBlanc, William (Bill) & late Carol Curran, III, Kevin & Sari Curran, Jane & Gary McGuirk, Joan & Scott Frautschi, Dennis & Mary Jane Curran, Kathleen (Kate) & Paul Doyle, Christopher (Chris) & Shawna Curran; her siblings, Paul (and Mary) Forker, Catherine (and Joseph) Lynch; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren (and one more on the way).
