Woodland Park, New Jersey
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of Jean M. Schultz, on May 4, 2026. She was 80 years old.
Jean was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on October 8, 1945. She resided in Kearny for most of her adult life before relocating to Woodland Park twenty years ago.
Jean worked for many years at The Bank of New York and later at Chase Bank. In her retirement, she served her Woodland Park community as a crossing guard. She loved children and took great joy in interacting with the students she crossed each day, as well as with members of her community. She had a soft heart for animals. She took great pleasure in feeding the animals that lived in her yard as well as providing a loving home for several of her rescued and adopted pets throughout her lifetime. She lovingly fostered kittens throughout her life, including in her final days.
She is survived by her son Richard Schultz Jr., and his wife Samantha Schultz; her daughter, Kara Suttora, and her husband, Michael Suttora; her grandchildren Christopher Dale, Jack Suttora, Benjamin Suttora, Laura Schultz, and her great-grandson, Nicholas Dale. She also leaves behind her beloved niece, Michelle Cantara, and her husband, Joey Cantara, as well as for her great-niece, Taylor Cantara, and great-nephew, Aidan Cantara.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Richard Schultz, and her parents, Leger and Irene Remillard.
