Eugenia “Jean” Potenzone

Mrs. Eugenia 'Jean' Potenzone, 90, died on June 4, 2018 at her home in Cedar Grove, surrounded by her loving family.

Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, (www.proutfuneralhome.com) 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell on Friday at 11 am.

Born in Newark and raised in Belleville, Mrs. Potenzone lived in North Caldwell prior to moving to Cedar Grove 40 years ago.

She was a medical secretary and worked for Mountainside Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 1993.

Jean loved flowers & bird watching and her annual trips to the Presby Iris Gardens and the Cherry Blossoms at Branch Brook Park. Visits from her great grandchildren always brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by her loving children, R. Steven Potenzone (and his wife, Janet), Judy Bennett and Thomas Potenzone; cherished grandchildren, Stacia Lupinacci (and her husband, Andrew), Jarrett Bennett, Simon Bennett, Casey Potenzone (and his wife, Alana), Jesse Potenzone, Nicholas Potenzone (Michelle), Damian Potenzone, Andrea Potenzone and Tyler Potenzone; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Samantha Lupinacci and Natalie Potenzone. Jean is also survived by her sister, Mary Perone.
