Verona, New Jersey
Edward Joseph Zebrowski of Verona passed away February 8th after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years young.
Born in Queens in 1954, he was raised in Glen Cove, Long Island to the late Walter and Patricia Zebrowski. He lived in Huntington, Long Island prior to moving to Verona, NJ in 1986. Ed attended Glen Cove High School where he met the love of his life, Linda Kessler. After earning a degree in Communications from Hofstra University, Ed began his long, storied career at the Mutual of NY (later AXA Equitable) until retiring after 35 years as an Assistant Vice President.
Ed and Linda raised three sons, instilling in them Ed’s admirable work ethic and love for competition. He demonstrated to them how to play fair but fierce, and taught them the value of a dollar by encouraging them to work long weekends and summers as caddies just like he did.
Since his retirement in 2012, Ed was fortunate to golf often with his group “The Weekly Walkers” with whom he walked the course up to three times a week. Ed proudly aced two “hole-in-ones” across his golfing career.
In addition to Linda, his devoted wife of 47 Years, Ed is survived by three sons: Peter (Nicole) and Andrew (Maggie) of West Caldwell, and Danny (Leah) of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren: Jack, Sadie and Zoe Zebrowski; a brother, Thomas (Lisa) of Bayville, L.I.; a brother-in-law, Jay Kessler (Nikki) of Glen Cove, L.I.; along with six nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Prout Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13 from 10am-1pm. A Celebration of Edward's Life to follow at Dough Fairfield, 168 Passaic Avenue, Fairfield, NJ 07004 at 2 pm.
