Douglas P. Allen, Sr.

Douglas P. Allen, Sr. died suddenly on August 8, 2025. He was 70 years old.

Visiting will be on Friday, August 15 from 4 to 7 pm, with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.

Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, Doug grew up in Clifton. He graduated from the Stockbridge School in Massachusetts and has a Bachelors degree from Montclair State University.

He worked as a manager of operations in the Avionics Division of ITT in Clifton, retiring in 2020.

He loved his family, friends, and neighbors, always ready to help anyone he thought could use a hand—whether or not they asked. He found joy in woodworking, fishing, working on cars and sharing his passion for sourdough bread with anyone willing to listen. He cherished time in his yard and garden, delighted in playing word games, and never tired of watching his favorite movies on repeat. He also loved taking long walks with his dog, Daisy, and devoted himself to caring for his elderly cat and the foster animals who passed through his home.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; his children, Lindsey and Doug Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen; and his siblings, Hugh Allen III, Theresa Allen, and Susie Allen.
