Dorothy C. Vendetti Obituary (1926 - 2014)

Mrs. Dorothy C. Vendetti, died on November 21, 2014 in Montclair. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell on Tuesday, November 25 at 10:00 am. Visiting in the PROUT FUNERAL HOME, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona (www.proutfuneralhome.com) on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. Born in Newark on November 25, 1926, Mrs. Vendetti grew up in Belleville/Nutley and lived in West Paterson, North Plainfield and Kearny before settling in Caldwell. Mrs. Vendetti has her RN from St. Joseph's School of Nursing and a BA from Jersey City State College. She worked at Mountainside Hospital prior to becoming the School Nurse for the Essex County Vocational School in West Caldwell. She was a member of the NJEA, Masterworks Choir and loved to sing opera, dance, travel, bake, read and spend time with her grandchildren. Dottie was predeceased by her husband Andrew and 9 siblings. She is the mother of Jacqueline Conlan (and her husband, David), Robert Vendetti (and his wife, Gail) and the grandmother of Alyssa Dargento (and her husband, Anthony), David B. Conlan (and his wife, Lisa) and Kaitlyn C. Conlan. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Stella & Mia Dargento & Kasey and Wynne Conlan and her sisters, Bernice Grum and Barbara Poplowski. In lieu of flowers, donations to the School of Nursing at Caldwell University would be appreciated.
