Diana Louise Casparro, 87, of Bradley Beach, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and the simple joys of a life well-lived.
A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Diana possessed a spirit that centered entirely on those she loved. She had a remarkable ability to find beauty in routine and connection, whether she was sharing a summer afternoon at the beach or creating handmade blankets for those she held dear.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Diana was the youngest of four siblings and grew up in the close-knit community of Bloomfield. It was during her time at Bloomfield High School that she met the love of her life, Larry, beginning a beautiful journey that would span more than six decades.
Diana and Larry were married shortly after his college graduation, eventually settling in Verona, New Jersey to raise their family. For 27 years, they built a life in Verona rooted in community and friendship. Diana dedicated herself to her role as a homemaker, ensuring her family was always her first priority. As her children grew, she also shared her talents as a dental assistant within the town she called home.
The bond between Diana and Larry was truly magical; they were a couple who did everything together. Their 63-year marriage was marked by cherished rituals—from Friday night pizza and Saturday night dates, to winters spent in the Florida Keys and summers at the Jersey Shore.
Diana took immense pride in her Italian heritage and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and spent many evenings cheering for her team. Her creativity shone through her crochet work, as she meticulously crafted beautiful blankets as gifts of love for her family and friends. She also found quiet pleasure in playing cards and the challenge of word search puzzles.
Upon Larry’s retirement in 1998, the couple moved to Bradley Beach to embrace life at the Jersey Shore. Diana was never happier than when she was basking in the sun at the beach, surrounded by the laughter and company of her friends, or indulging in an Italian ice on the boardwalk with her family.
Diana is survived by her cherished children, Rob and his wife, Donna, and Lynn Maloney and her husband, Michael. Her memory will be forever carried by her loving grandchildren: Kevin and Jeffrey Casparro, and Chayse and Roman Maloney. She is also survived by the many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her treasured parents, Joseph and Onorina Casale, her dear siblings, Albina Miller, Phyllis Velardi and Tilio Casale, and her beloved husband of 63 years, Larry Casparro.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, NJ, on Friday, March 13 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
