Mr. David Farbaniec passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at his home in Marlborough, MA. He was 36 years old.

Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona NJ on Sunday, September 28 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lakeside Avenue, Verona on Monday September 29 at 10:00am. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.

Born in Orange, NJ, and raised in Verona, David graduated from Verona High School in 2007. During his time there, he enjoyed being a member of the Marching Maroon and White and chorus. He participated in the award winning DECA team and loved to attend his favorite class, Culinary Arts.

David was always drawn to the kitchen. Even as a young child, he found joy in preparing food for others. At just 10 years old, he would bring homemade baked treats to school to share with his favorite teacher. He also learned the art of pizza-making at his cousin’s pizzeria in Pennsylvania—an experience that sparked his dream of becoming a chef.

While still in high school, David worked part-time at Center Drugs, the local pharmacy, where he was known for his kind demeanor and easy laughter. After graduation, he pursued his culinary aspirations at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, earning a degree in Culinary Arts.

After graduating from college, he followed his passion for the culinary arts, beginning his career at the Franklin Country Club in Rhode Island. He later transitioned into corporate dining, where he continued to grow and excel as a chef. At the time of his passing, he was the Executive Chef Manager at the DIVCOWest Coffee Bar, Café, and Catering at Bristol Myers Squibb in Cambridge, Massachusetts - a role he took great pride in and approached with both skill and heart.

David was a caring husband, beloved son, a loving brother, and a cherished uncle. He had a deep and genuine love for his family, friends, and animals, and that love was felt by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Diana Farbaniec; devoted parents, Frank and Rose Farbaniec; and his siblings, Michael Farbaniec (Rebecca), Michelle Farbaniec, and Nicole Farbaniec Connors (Christopher). David was also the proud and adoring uncle of Benjamin, Norah, and Nolan, who brought immense joy to his life and loved their fun uncle dearly. He was fortunate to have many aunts, uncles, cousins, fousins, and friends who enriched his life with love and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his loyal dog, Barney, and his beloved cat, Lucah, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and happiness.

David’s legacy is one of love, creativity and kindness. He will be remembered not only for his talents in the kitchen, but also for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family, friends and all those whose lives he has touched

In honor of David’s deep love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to Rosemarie’s Rescue Ranch (https://rosemariesrescueranch.com), PO Box 194, Verona, NJ 07044. Your generosity will help continue the compassionate work that meant so much to him.

Condolences, cherished memories, and photos may be shared on this obituary page.
