Cira Roque

Ms. Cira Roque, 87, passed away peacefully at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, NJ on August 6, 2023.

Visiting will take place in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, on Thursday, August 10 from 8:30 AM to 10 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Born and raised in Florida Camaguey, Cuba, Ms. Roque moved to the United States in 1969. She lived in Newark before moving to Caldwell many years ago.

Ms. Roque was a loving homemaker and talented artist. She was also active in her community as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Union City.

She is survived by her son, David Guerra (Isabel) and daughter, Betty Gonzalez (Nectalier II.); former husband, Juan David Guerra; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nectalier III, Albert, Danielle and David and great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Francesca, Liana, Lucas, Sophia, Alanni, Mia, Xander, Oliver, Dashiell, Cecilia, Tora-Bella, Thiago.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Essex First Aid Squad (westessexfas.org) would be greatly appreciated.
