Arthur J. Caprio

–

Roseland, New Jersey

Arthur J. Caprio, 88, of Roseland, passed away peacefully at Morristown Memorial Center on Sunday, June 3, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Arthur was a gentleman’s gentleman.

Born in Newark on January 2, 1936, Arthur grew up on Highland Avenue and attended Barringer High School. In 1956 he was awarded state champion fencer. Always wanting to learn and improve his skills, at only 16 years old, he began studies at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In 1959, he met his wife, Pat. They married in 1961 and moved to Roseland in 1968, where they raised their two children.

He began his career designing and testing air filters for Sullair and other companies. He lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for a couple of years while his children were still in high school but his family missed those Italian Sunday dinners with their cousins and grandparents, so they moved back to New Jersey. His career switched directions and he worked for many years at Spiniello Companies in various roles.

Arthur served as a Councilman in Roseland and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia A. “Patsy” Caprio (nee Insabella); his parents, A. Edward and Mildred (nee Russomano) Caprio; and his brother, Edward Caprio.

Arthur is survived by his loving daughters, Michele and Charlene Caprio; sister-in-law, Mary Adele Insabella and her wife Denise; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 28 North Livingston Ave., Roseland, NJ on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11 am.

Condolences, memories and photos may be left on his obituary page at www.proutfuneralhome.com.
