Angelo Michael Baldassare

Mr. Angelo Michael Baldassare, 75, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015.
A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 32 Lakeside Avenue, Verona (use ramped entrance in parking lot off Montrose Avenue) on Monday, April 27 at 10:30 am.
Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Saturday from 4 to 6 pm and Sunday 4 to 7 pm.
Born in Margaret Hague Hospital, Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Baldassare grew up in Jersey City Heights. He graduated from St. Peter's Prep and St. Peter's College, before starting his career at the Federal Reserve in New York City.
He then co-founded, along with his friends, Peter DeCarlo and Anthony Conza, the Blimpie chain of sandwich shops in Hoboken, NJ.
He also served as the President and CEO of B & B Foods in Newark and Bayonne.
He was the father of Michael Angelo Baldassare, the father-in-law of Amy Baldassare, the grandfather of Nicholas Angelo Baldassare and Lillian Margit Baldassare, the brother of Frances Mughetto, Frank Baldassare, Michael Baldassare and the late Isabella Vessillo. He is also survived by his loving friend, caregiver and former wife, Jane Wehr. He will be deeply missed by his Godchildren, Alayne Fahrman, Michael Baldassare, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
