We have been monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in our area and have adapted to the situation as needed.
Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our staff and the families we serve has always been a priority. During normal public visitations or services, we have always made regular rounds to ensure our parlors and restrooms are clean. In light of the current situation, we have increased how often we make these rounds and made hand sanitizing stations more prominent. Working within the State & Federal mandates & guidelines we need to limit the time and number of direct next-of-kin that can be present in the funeral home, however, over ten years ago we installed a rather extensive audio/visual system that we had updated in November, 2019. This allowed us to immediately begin live streaming interactive funeral services at the Funeral Home, Graveside or Mausoleum for those who want to include extended family and friends.
We are continually updated on this matter by the New Jersey Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and will follow their guidance.
If you are feeling unwell, please avoid any gatherings. When leaving your home, always wear a face covering and respect the space of others. You may leave condolences and share stories with the family online at proutfuneralhome.com/obituary. We know that all of this virtual, online stuff is not the same as being present to show your support of a grieving family, but within this ‘new norm’ a virtual hug and support is still better than no hug at all.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at (973) 239-2060.
As always, we will be here for you.
